Research Experience:
- Children's Mental Health State Infrastructure Grant (Jun 2008–present)
Supervised by Mark DeKraai, J.D., Ph.D. University of Nebraska Public Policy Center
Under a grant for transforming Nebraska's children's mental health system to a systems-of-care model, performed research tasks as assigned. Researched evidence-based practices (EBPs) for use by Medicaid-funded Community Treatment Aides and presented that research to Medicaid representatives. Assisted in developing new entry and exit criteria for Medicaid-funded children's mental health services, with the aim of reducing unnecessary admissions to psychiatric residential treatment centers where home- and community-based services were available.Took the lead in coordinating a research project involving the use of Dr. Michael Lambert's clinician feedback process for preventing treatment failure, as well as a second study of Dr. Jim Alexander's Functional Family Therapy with at-risk youth, in partnership with several Nebraska children's mental health service agencies. - The Nature of Social Anxiety in Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual (LGB) Individuals (2006–2008)

Assisted in developing the set of questionnaires and interviews to be used in collecting data. Assisted in writing the grant that funded this project. Attitudes about Social and Sexual Life
Supervised by Prof. Debra Hope, University of Nebraska–Lincoln
Assisted in the development of a questionnaire packet to collect data on demographics, sexual attractions, behaviors, and identities, and symptomatology in a sample of college students. Coordinated and ran experiment sessions, developed SPSS database, trained and supervised undergraduate research assistants in running subjects and data entry, developed statistical analyses. - Research Assistant (2006)

Intelligence assessment using the WAIS-IV and depression assessment using the BDI–II in a sample of adult patients with phenylketonuria, as part of baseline data collection for an FDA-funded multisite study on the effectiveness of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) in reducing blood serum levels of phenylalanine.
